My Philosophy

As an athlete I feel that sports can be one of the most beneficial things a person can do in his life. To play sports, not all but most, requires the ability to work with other people as a unit to achieve a goal... winning. I believe sports can make a person more comfortable in social situations. Sports also work the mind just as hard as they work the body. A person can be the most gifted athletically, but if he can't think about what he is doing and out smart his opponent, he will lose more often than not.

I agree with you that sport helps people learn to work as a team. It not only brings teams together but it brings together individual countries as well as the whole world. Sports are a powerful thing.

Hi Reilly,
It might have just been a passing thought, but I'm interested in you saying that being an athlete can make you "more comfortable in social situations". Were you thinking about the physical ease and presence that being an athlete can give you? Or more psychological things like confidence in yourself?

So Mr. Sullivan, do you think that chess is a sport then?
